Cleaning and maintenance guide

VACUUMING - Use a vacuum cleaner periodically, if possible daily or whenever necessary. Sisal is a resistant natural fiber, free of static. Consequently, it does not attract dust or trap excessive dirt. To maintain the original beauty of the rug or carpet, it is essential to use a vacuum cleaner. Although the need to vacuum is not visible, it is important for removing small dust particles that penetrate between the fibers causing wear. We recommend using a good vacuum cleaner for best results;

WHERE TO USE - All sisal rugs and carpets are for INDOOR use only. They should not be placed in direct sunlight or exposed to excessive moisture.

HOW TO PROTECT NATURAL FIBER RUGS AND CARPETS - Immediate care for all types of stains is extremely important for their removal from sisal rugs and carpets. Because it is a natural fiber, sisal has a high absorption rate. Therefore, we recommend immediate maintenance, following the guidelines below:

a. Always clean the affected area immediately, gently absorbing liquids with absorbent paper without applying pressure or rubbing. For solids, remove excess before cleaning using a rounded-tip knife or spatula;

b. If the stain is dry, gently brush off the excess material, then use a sponge or damp cloth to remove the remainder. Never attempt to remove the stain with homemade or unknown products;

c. Expose the rug to sunlight once a month for 15 minutes;

d. If you are unable to clean it yourself, take it to a professional;

e. If the rug gets wet, try to recover it before it dries by washing it completely. Use neutral soap with plenty of water to remove all impurities and let it dry in a flat, shady place. Once dry, place it in the sun for 30 minutes.

Note: this should be considered as a last resort.

CLEANING - We recommend the following cleaning procedures:

a. Grease and oils – remove excess with a knife and then wipe with a clean white cloth dampened with 92% alcohol to remove impurities;

b. Chocolate, milk and coffee – absorb the liquid with absorbent paper on top and bottom of the carpet and then wipe with a clean white cloth dampened with 92% alcohol to remove impurities;

c. Wine and other beverages – absorb the liquid on both sides of the carpet using a dry cloth or absorbent paper without rubbing and wipe with a white cloth dampened with alcohol if the stain persists;

d. Blood – clean the affected area with a white cloth and 10-volume hydrogen peroxide;

e. Wax and Candle – gently scrape off the wax with a rounded-tip knife;

f. Fruits and sauces – remove excess with a spoon and wipe with a white cloth dampened with 92% alcohol;

g. Pen ink – wipe with a clean, white cloth dampened with alcohol. Removal will only be possible if the stain is from ballpoint pen marks;

h. Mud and clay – remove excess and brush with a dry brush. If the stain persists, wipe with a cloth dampened with alcohol;

i. Urine and sweat – use only a white cloth with a little neutral detergent. Because it is a very acidic liquid, urine is difficult to remove.

NOTES: Never use household chemicals; If the carpet is stained and cannot be restored, it can be painted with water-based paint; In case of internal dampness in the carpet, in addition to using a dry cloth to absorb external moisture, it is recommended to use a hair dryer to evaporate internal moisture.

Simulate in your environment.

To simulate, simply click the "Take Photo" button to take a picture of the room or upload one. Then, select your preferred weave and mark the 4 points in the room that should form your rug to visualize it. The weaves can be replaced at any time by simply clicking on a new weave to update the image.

Note: This simulation is intended to help you choose the best weave for your room; however, it's important to remember that it's not a "perfect representation" of reality, as we must consider changes in lighting and variations in tone that occur from one batch to another.
